How to Deal with WhatsApp Scammers - Nowadays, scams in the internet world still often occur, even now it has spread to various instant messaging application platforms, namely WhatsApp. Scam is a criminal act under the guise of fraud and can harm users. Although it is often experienced by anyone, we need to know how to deal with WhatsApp scammers so as not to become the next victim.

As time goes by, the form of scammer fraud varies, it can be in the form of a lottery message, or using the name of a certain institution that makes the victim curious and then interested in following the directions of the perpetrator (scammer).

Scam perpetrators usually use phishing or fraud techniques by targeting victims who are off guard or the elderly. Regardless, the ultimate goal remains the same, namely to carry out fraudulent actions against various age groups.

To prevent unwanted and detrimental things, below are some ways to avoid fraud via the WhatsApp platform that you can try.

1. Activate two-step verification (2 step Verification)

How to overcome scammers on the WhatsApp platform, the first step is to activate two-step verification in the form of an optional feature to provide security for our account. The steps to activate this feature are quite easy to do, namely we just select the Settings menu, then we click on the account and select Two-Step Verification to be able to register a PIN number.

We also just follow the instructions from WhatsApp because it is very easy to do. The PIN number that will be registered will become a code or account password.

2. Do not share any codes

The user number used for the WhatsApp instant messaging application is usually connected to several other accounts such as banking, or applications installed on smartphones. Therefore, it is very important not to share any codes in the public domain, even if it is our own family. Be it a verification code, OTP or SMS code.

In addition to the OTP code, the password for two-step verification on our WhatsApp platform should also not be known to anyone.

3. Use privacy settings

5. Always Log Out of WhatsApp Web Account

The WhatsApp web feature is indeed widely used by users to make it more practical to communicate on one device. However, on the other hand, we still have to be careful, especially when logging into WhatsApp Web using a public WiFi network and forgetting to log out afterwards.

And one way to deal with WhatsApp scammers is to log out of your instant messaging account from your device to avoid hacking your account.
